In order to present the SDI lab at the last ‘Schülerinfotag’, 3 lectures were prepared. Overall, the lab was visited by two groups of 15 people. The pupils were introduced to the ‘Autonomous Driving Project’ in which a rc-car is rebuilt so that it can drive independently. There was a general introduction to the idea and implementation, followed by a description of the HOG algorithm which serves the recognition of humans. The conclusion was formed by the presentation of the Viola-Jones algorithm with which one can recognize traffic signs and pylons.
The pupils listened very interested and also took part in the prepared face/human recognition demos.
